After the first tube of Samanlı Tunnel at Organgazi passage of Gebze – Orhangazi – İzmir Highway which shall reduce to 4,5 hours the travel period in between İSTANBUL – İZMİR has been inaugurated at first week of March, excavations at the second tube are almost completed. Company authorities performing tunnel construction stated that cross over of the second section shall be completed on second half of April. Under the scope of Gebze – Orhangazi – İzmir Highway and Gulf Passage Project, excavation works of the first tube of the 3 km long tunnel which shall connect Yalova Altınova and Orhangazi have been completed on first week of March. At excavation works of two tube of tunnel construction which are continued at four points, after cross over of the first tube has been completed, the excavation Works at the second tube are continued in both direction. Samanlı Tunnel which is 7 thousand and 200 meter long in total and which shall have two tubes is expected to start its services as of the beginning of 2015.
