Defense companies that contribute to the development of Turkish Defense Industry through domestic production are getting in gear for signing off on another important supply project. Companies bidding for the ammunition vehicles to be used for T155KM (Fırtına) Support motor-driven howitzers have been disclosed. Project works for these vehicles have been carried on by the Undersecretariat of Defense Ministry. According to this, FNSS Defense Systems Co., and Aselsan will be the companies in charge of this project for the manufacturing of T155KM howitzers (Fırtına) back-up vehicles. These vehicles will the serve purpose of enhancing mission efficiency of the elements in the Turkish Armed Forces. This project carried on by the Undersecretariat of Defense Ministry, intends to deliver ammunition vehicles capable of supplying ammunition and fuel to T155KM (Fırtına) howitzers while on-the-move. These howitzers have a high firing velocity, high maneuvering and mobility, and capable of firing sophisticated ammunition. Within the scope of howitzers with motor-driven supports (koma) a total of 71 koma — one portable and 70 (komas)– will be delivered.
