Works are in progress continuously in Orhangazi-Izmir Highway project which is the on-going infrastructural investment largest in Europe and second largest in the world.
Minister of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications Binali Yıldırım has viewed Gebze-Bursa routing of the project from the air which will shorten Istanbul route. Yıldırım who has stated that the works rapidly continue, said “Our goal is to complete the route, especially the part of the route until Bursa, in 2015.” Projects’ construction costs alone are 6 billion Dollars. When the other inputs are added, the cost reaches 7.5 billion Dollars. Binalı Yıldırım also added that the cost of the project is higher than the separate annual national incomes of 53 countires.
