Power Plant With an installed capacity of 1,200 MW and an annual electricity generation of approximately 4,120 GWh, the Ilısu Dam is the fourth largest dam in Türkiye after Atatürk, Karakaya, and Keban Dams and the second largest dam in Türkiye in terms of volume. In addition, the Ilısu Dam is the world’s largest dam i n terms of fill volume and body length in the Concrete-Face Rock-Fill Dam type. The project was finalized on July 19, 2019, and the first power generation in the power plant building consisting of a total of 6 units was accomplished on May 19, 2020, with the participation of the President of the Republic of Türkiye. The provisional acceptance of the project was made on July 10, 2020, and the power plant is now operating with an installed capacity of 1,200 MW.
