Tümad Lapseki Gold and Silver Mine has fulfilled the requirements of the Cyanide Code (ICMC), which consists of 9 policies, 29 procedures and nearly 200 articles, determined by the United Nations Environment Commission International Cyanide Institute regarding the safe and environmentally friendly use of cyanide, with ‘zero error’. And it has become the first domestic and national Turkish Mining Enterprise to certify it.
International Cyanide Code; it is among the most established certification programs in the mining industry, developed by a multi-stakeholder steering committee which covers the entire process from gold and silver producing companies to the supply of cyanide produced in accordance with standards, transportation, storage, use in the facility and communication with the stakeholders.
The fact that Tümad, which carries out its activities with all its employees, without compromising its quality, with the best available Technologies, in line with sustainable mining criteria’s, in a way that respects nature, people and environment, has the international cyanide code is also a great achievement for our country.
