The two major players in the Turkish defense industry, with investments in the UK, have joined forces. AEI Systems, UNIROBOTICS, and Nurol Makina, which signed a collaboration at DSEI 2023 in London, England last September, have achieved significant progress in their joint project.
SYS, incorporating CANiK, strategically invested in the United Kingdom, resulting in the acquisition of the well-established British company AEI Systems. Additionally, Nurol Makina, a significant manufacturer of military vehicles in Türkiye, expanded its operations with the establishment of NUROL MAKINA UK in the UK, marking a significant strategic move. By combining their operations in the UK, these two Turkish giants have further enhanced their capabilities through a joint project.
CANiK General Manager Cahit Utku Aral commented on the partnership, stating, “With a quarter-century of experience in the global defense industry, our company initiated projects involving medium caliber weapons and their associated remote-controlled fire control systems in 2022. Together with AEI Systems, we’ve positioned ourselves at the forefront of medium caliber weapon systems technology, contributing to the development of future technologies in this field. We are delighted to solidify this achievement through a partnership with Nurol Makina, a distinguished player with a proven track record in the defense industry. I am confident that the success story initiated by the new-generation light armored vehicle Ejder Yalçın 4X4, leveraging the combined expertise of both companies, will continue to flourish with VENOM LR and TRAKON.”
