The two-third of the Gebze-Orhangazi-İzmir highway with its 433 km. length will decrease the travel time to 3,5 hours from 9 hours between İstanbul and İzmir. The construction works reached to 91% is ongoing Gebze-Bursa part of the Project. Similarly, the 90% percent of the works were completed in Kemalpaşa-İzmir region. So the 66% percent of the project was physically realized. The Osmangazi Bridge forming the prominent part of the project, will enable drivers to pass the gulf in 6 minutes. The effective date of contract of the build-operate-transfer Project was in March 2013 and expected to be ready in 7 years. It is expected that the highway will decrease the current travel time which is 8-9 hours will decrease to 3,5 hours by shortening the distance 95 km. according to the old way. In this way, 650 million dollars will be saved annually. The total amount of investment of the Project was nearly 10 bilion 51 million 882 dollars and 7 thousand 918 persons were employed within this Project.
