Governor of Bursa, Sahabettin Harput visited the tunnel and highway construction of Gebze-Orhangazi-Izmir Highway in the vicinity of Ortakoy in Orhangazi and obtained information about the construction. Governor Harput was briefed by Assistant General Manager of Otoyol A.S Cemalettin Kocamanoglu, Tunnel Construction Chief Kursat Erol and Project Manager Kutlu Kater in the 1400 meters long tunnel construction. Harput, while stating the project proceeds faster than the plans, said: “Now, we can see that in total, excavations of a length of about 1500 meters have been made in the tunnel construction. Especially General Manager of Otoyol AS and our regional managers, we congratulate all the personnel in the presence of you. In very short time, we came a long way. We can see that 23% of Samanlı Tunnel, which has a specialty of being Turkey’s longest highway tunnel, has been completed. Now, 250 meters under the ground, we are trying to bring this tunnel to completion by using any means of technology.”
