For the construction of the largest highway project of Turkey, Otoyol Yatırım ve Işletme A.Ş. will put in equity capital of 1.1 billion Dollars, which will be followed by a bank loan. Stating that the discussions will be concluded in a few months, CEO of Otoyol Yatırım ve Işletme A.Ş., Yavuz Batum said, “The number of banks may increase in the coming months. We are at the final due-diligence stage now” and added, “Our primary target is to construct the first section. We aim to complete the construction of the most critical section of the project, i.e. the section between Gebze and Bursa including also the Izmir Bay Bridge, in 3.5 years. Thus, we will be providing a significant public service by reducing the traffic density and reducing the travel time and we will have already started to generate income”.
