MINING COMPANIES JOIN FORCES FOR EARTHQUAKE RESCUE MISSION
February 6, 2023, witnessed one of the most devastating disasters ever experienced in our Republic’s history. An earthquake struck 11 provinces, with Kahramanmaraş suffering the most severe consequences. Regrettably, a significant number of our people lost their lives, and it is estimated that thousands are still trapped under the debris.
As part of the rescue operations carried out by various domestic and international organizations under the coordination of AFAD, the prominent mining companies in the Turkish mining industry deployed their rescue teams to the affected region.
The association has announced that it will provide a separate update regarding the machinery, equipment, and materials required for search and rescue operations. It is noteworthy that numerous mining companies operating in the earthquake zone are actively contributing to the rescue efforts by mobilizing their construction machinery and personnel.
