Minister of Transportation, Mr. Binali Yildirim, said that the greenhouse gas emissions will decrease 130 thousand tons per year with the opening of Marmaray Rail Tube Crossing.
Mr. Yildirim said “Marmaray Rail Tube Crossing, will be an option for heavy traffic of Istanbul. It will ease solving of the increasing traffic congestion and air pollution problems. The capacity of the system will be in the 10-12 times more that the capacity of each existing bridges. It is estimated that the greenhouse gas emissions in various forms will decrease by 130.335 (one hundred and thirty five thousan and three hundred and thirty five) tons per year owing to Marmaray Project.
