The KAPLAN MT Medium Weight Tank Development Project was signed between the Presidency of Defense Industries and the Indonesian Ministry of Defense under an intergovernmental agreement.
Following the prototype development, FNSS successfully completed firing tests conducted in Indonesia. At the end of 2019, FNSS signed a joint production agreement for a total of 18 KAPLAN MT, the first medium weight tank in the World tested and certified by an army. In 2020, FNSS accomplished the design perfection activities carried out with the participation of end users. The production and supply of the components and subsystems needed by PT Pindad to produce the vehicles in Indonesia was completed in 2021, and these components and subsystems were exported to Indonesia as vehicle kits and delivered to PT Pindad, FNSS’ partner. At the beginning of 2022, FNSS successfully concluded the Project activities in Türkiye and made the vehicles produced in Türkiye ready for delivery to the customer. The remaining vehicles will be produced by PT Pindad in Indonesia, using the technology transfer model that FNSS has successfully applied before.
