Life of Tuğrul Cankurt, a painting teacher, was disrupted after the accident he has had 14 years ago. He remained paralyzed and even asked euthanasia from his doctors. Yet he managed to hold on to life through the help of a paint brush attached to his left shoulder he barely moves. Cankurt, who mentioned the difficulties of being disabled in Turkey, said “Painting was always in my life, however, after the accident, especially since 2009, I have been painting all the time. Thanks to Nurol Art Gallery, my paintings are exhibited. My 4th exhibition will be opened on October 7, and again at Nurol Art Gallery”.
