HASAN YÜCEL: “GOLD PRODUCTION DROPPED TO 32 TONS IN 2022”
Türkiye’s gold production witnessed a decline in 2022, reaching a total of 32 tons. Compared to the previous year, this indicates a decrease of 7.5 tons, with production being 39.5 tons in 2021 and 42 tons in 2020. TÜMAD Madencilik General Manager Hasan Yücel highlighted that the suspension of production in two mines located in Erzincan and Kayseri greatly influenced the decline in 2022. Yücel further mentioned that companies with foreign capital account for 52 percent of Türkiye’s overall gold production, while TÜMAD contributed 7.5 tons of gold production last year.
