According to the “Sectoral Figures by Provinces” prepared by the Turkish Exporters ‘Assembly (TİM), the export figures achieved by Ankara increased by $602,036,000 (7.8 percent) when compared to 2018, reaching $8,303,473,000 in 2019. The highest export figure in the capital by sector was achieved by defence and aerospace companies. In 2019, the exports of the defence and aerospace sector in Ankara, which hosts the headquarters of such important defence industry companies as ASELSAN, Turkish Aerospace and FNSS Savunma Sistemleri A.Ş., reached $1,346,654,000, representing an increase of 38.92 percent when compared to 2018.
