A premiere screening has been made of the documentary \u201cTreasures of Troy \u2013 A Century of Longing\u201d, which focuses on the archaeological treasures of Troy that were stolen by amateur archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann and were taken first to Greece and then to Germany in 1873. Speaking to members of the press before the screening at the Kanyon Shopping Centre, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Tourism, said that the documentary \u201cTreasures of Troy \u2013 A Century of Longing\u201d will effectively mark the successful completion of the \u201c2018 Year of Troy\u201d. Noting that the theft of Troy\u2019s treasures had deeply wounded the heart of the region, B\u00fclent Turan, Group Deputy Chairman and Deputy from \u00c7anakkale of the AK Party said that the lasting impact of the documentary had given them the opportunity to recount the story of the theft of the treasures through a cinematic experience. Nihal A\u011f\u0131rba\u015f, the producer and director of the documentary, said \u201cThe scenario was penned based on Schliemann\u2019s memoirs, excavation notes, books and the views of the academicians we consulted. The Ottoman archives were also examined during the making of the film, and to make it more captivating for the audience, we shot the film as a docudrama.
